Hi Everybody,

I\'m confusing about the differences between test Implementation and Execution.
As I think,
– Execution: We had testcases already, QC just run testcase when functions are ready to test.
– Implementation: We got requirement. QC investigates this req then writing testcase, performing all testing processes (test functions –> find bugs –> submit –> verify –> ….)

Any ideas, sharing please 🙂
Tks for reading!

    Hi Camellia,

    Thanks for your question.

In term of semantics, what you think is generally correct, but it also depends on organizations. Some organizations they prefer to use different terms such as write the, perform the test, run the test, do the test, execute the test, etc...

However, I dontt see how that can confuse you and why you should worry about that. It's the problem of terms and definitions. Sometimes to understand the terms, we need to put those terms in the context.

I also wrote an article titled: "New Testers: Stop Worrying these Things, and You'll be Fine " . Here is the link: ( https://45.63.92.193/new-tester-stop-worrying-these-things-and-youll-be-fine/ ).

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers,
    Thanh

    Hi Thuan Huynh,

Thks for ur answer and sharing link :)
My situation, I join new company and read the workflow... I see these steps: "....--> Implementation ---> Execution ---> ....". So, it makes me confuse alittle bit about these definitions.

    Thks!

    @Camellia,

I understand as you are new to the company and workflow. Anyway, that's part of the game. It takes some time to get familiar with the process.

    Goodluck!

    Dear Camellia,
In my opinion, the Implementation term is creating test case (step by step) or writing the script for automation test. The Execution means run the test case manual/automation and get the test result :)
