    @Aditya,

    Software testing certification is one of most controversial topics. Its values depends more on how we perceive it.

    Personally, I don’t have any certification such as ISTQB and don’t see the need to have one. It may be because I have had a few years of experience. When you are new, certification may help but in the long run, your hands-on experience, your testing practice, your brain will go with you and show their values.

    So, go ahead and take one if you see it can help solve your problem but don’t just stop there.

    Goodluck

    I don’t have any testing certification in my career now, but I still have a good job in QA/Testing. However, certification and experience can help our CV more beautiful and easy-to-pass the scan CV round when finding a job.
    For your question, ISTQB is first-come for me 🙂

    @lanhuynh,

    I totally agree with you.

    In the long run when more and more testers have certifications, having certification does not help them be stood out any more. Our experience will speak

    How about technical certification? Database? Networking?
    If I need to recruit a test team for my own, a tester with Database skill or Networking skill would be great. The fastest way to show that you know, you can do is certificate.
    Certificate is a good way for recruiter to save time to find a qualified ones.

    @Hiep,

    The OP asked for software testing certification, so I assume he didn’t mean Database or Networking certification.

    Re: “The fastest way to show that you know, you can do is certificate.

    I disagree.
    That’s reason why I think recruiters are doing things completely wrong by thinking that certification=qualified and missing really good candidates without certification.

    My messages:

    To Recruiter: stop filtering candidates based on certifications
    To Testers: Feel free to get testing certification, that’s your choice but your ability to do the testing that matters
